Manufactured using a very high melting point plastic as earlier versions were prone to distortion due to the high temperatures generated by the lamp. These are two parts:- the screw in lens holder and the ring which is then threaded and which is fitted to the lighting fixture. |

Fitting Instructions:
[Replaces the very early, low-profile lens holder] Remember to remove the focus lens from the lens holder before discarding the holder. It will be held in place by silicone or, on the later ones, by a metal spring clip. The lens holder ring will be held in place with little blobs of super glue - it can be tricky to remove these so you use a pair of bull nose pliers to snap the ring out. The new ring should locate the notches on the plate and will just need half a twist to lock it in. Use super glue to fix it in place and allow to dry properly. The lens glass should be cleaned clearfully to remove any silicone - if silicone was used to hold it in place. Apply a thin bead of silicone to the lens holder on the rim where the lens will sit and gently place the lens into the holder and push to seat it into the silicone. Allow the silicone to dry properly. The lens sits the with domed part uppermost. If you have the new spring clip type then the lens will drop into the holder and the clip can then be pushed on top. |
